Shows large plated craquelure and impact craquelure throughout. Areas of prior restoration. Good tension to cotton canvas. The artist indicated on the verso that her surface is "oil with some wax, dammar and liquid turp (turpentine)". Turpentine is an additive which can thin out or extend oil paint while dammar is a glossy natural resin varnish which ages yellow over time. Wax has the ability to matte surfaces, and together these additives disrupt the drying process of the oils.
