Domenick Capobianco (American, b. 1938), "Grid + Blocks", Kinetic Painted Wood Sculpture, 1967, grid with 49 cube blocks, each painted with Liguitex paint in different colors on each side for multiple configurations, signed in ink, dated, and stamped "Studio / Domenick Capobianco" to verso. 38.5" H x 38.5" W x 4.25" D. Provenance: From the collection of the artist. Note: Domenick Capobianco is a graduate of Washington University at St. Louis, a Rutgers Fellow (1979), and a Guggenheim Fellow (1984/85). He was an educator and mentor at Rutgers University. Capobianco�s work can be found in collections worldwide, including: The Academie des Beaux-Arts, Ljubjana, Slovenia, The Albertina Museum, Vienna, Austria, and The M.V. Nesterov Museum, Ufa, Russia. Alongside his artist wife Elfi Schuselka (Austrian, b. 1940) he frequently exhibited with the famed 55 Mercer Gallery in New York.
