Description
Elfi Schuselka (Austrian, b. 1940), Abstract Wave, Plaster and Acrylic Sculpture, signed to underside. 12.5" H x 18" D x 5.5" D. Provenance: Property from the estate of the artist. Note: Schuselka studied photography, art history, and theater at the University of Vienna. She moved to New York in 1964. Her work has been exhibited internationally including at the Brooklyn Museum in New York, as well as Italy, France, Cracovia Biennial, Yugoslavia, Ibiza Biennial,Spain, Japan, and the Sao Paulo Biennial. Her work is part of the permanent collection of MoMA, Amon Carter Museum of American Art, and the International Centre of Graphic Arts, Slovenia. Long a regular exhibitor at the famed 55 Mercer Gallery, Schuselka is well-known in New York art circles together with her husband, the artist Domenick Capobianco (American, b. 1938).
