Clementine Hunter (American, 1886/7-1988) "Baptismal Procession" oil painting on canvas board, 1950, depicting a Folk Art scene with figures holding umbrellas outside a church with a river in the foreground, pencil signed "CH" lower left, housed in a green painted and gilt wood frame. Image: 14.25" H x 19.25" W; frame: 17.25" H x 23" W. Provenance: From a private E 76th St. Upper East Side estate. Purchased from Gilley's Gallery, 2014. "Baptismal Procession" was exhibited at the Saturday Gallery in 1952.
